Bruce Peninsula Hiking Day
Nothing but turquoise clean water and stunning rock formations
Trip Details
This epic destination does not require much of an introduction as it is one of the most popular destinations in all of Ontario. It is a must see for any newcomer or traveler in Toronto and is equally as fascinating in winter and summer. This national park is a world biosphere reserve protected by UNESCO popular for the turquoise waters of the Georgian bay, rocky shorelines, overhanging limestone cliffs, lakes, caves, and a wide variety of flora and fauna. It is certainly a Natural Disneyland for hikers! The trip starts hiking 1 km (approximately) through the Georgian bay trail to the first point of interest: the halfway rock point: an impressive rocky beach with its shoreline pointing northeast of Georgian bay. The cliffs and the magnificent vista makes this area a popular spot for taking pictures or just sit back and admire the scenery. On a short hike you will arrive at the natural arch and the Grotto, an ancient cave carved from the natural stones of the Georgian bay. This is by far one of the landmarks and most beautiful areas of the park. From the Grotto, the tour continues to encounter the boulder beach where a sign marks the junction of the Bruce trail and Marr lake trail featuring its clear waters. This is the last section of the loop and route to the exit. Note: The Bruce peninsula day permit is a 4 hour trip. There are several routes available across the park, but considering this time frame; we’ve chosen the most scenic and adequate route for this period. Other trails could be more challenging and require more than 4 hours if you want to enjoy them at a slow pace. On the way there we will stop quickly at the iconic Inglis Falls, a 18 meter drop of the Sydenham river in Owen Sound.
