Trip Details

TOUR IN A NUTSHELL Location: Owensound and Grey Highlands, Ontario Length: Inglis Falls: 6.2 km; Eugenia Falls: 1.7 km; Jones falls: 1.7 km; Hoggs falls: 500 m Difficulty: Easy Ideal Season: Late spring, summer, fall, winter Start: 7 am End: 7 pm The tour begins at Inglis falls conservation area. The waterfalls are located just a few meters from the parking lot. After descending a few stairs across the forest, a different angle of the waterfalls can be appreciated. This spectacular 18m height waterfall belongs to the Sydenham river and is one of the most visited of the region. Our second destination is Jones falls. This is a small to medium size waterfall that could be accessed walking 5 minutes from the parking lot following the flow of the Pottawatomi river through the forest. The water from the river drops over a section of the Niagara escarpment featuring a 12m height cascade. The third stop is in Eugenia to visit the Eugenia and Hoggs falls, located at Grey Sauble conservation area. The trail offers a spectacular view of the 30 m waterfall striking into the Beaver valley. This is the tallest waterfall of the area and one of the most popular; also part of the Niagara escarpment. The trail leads to the smaller Hoggs falls with a chance to cool off (water is pretty cold even in summer) Another possible stop is Indian Falls in Owen Sound, depending on whether access is permitted.
