Hope Bay and Greig's Caves

Caves, hiking, swimming and so much more

Before you book

This lesser known Provincial Park has similar features to Lion’s Head, but is less trafficked and has some unique spots and highlights of its own. We will start off our day at Greig’s Caves* (entrance included in ticket price), a family owned conservatory containing large caves and rock formations formed thousands of years ago. Avid and experienced movie enthusiasts may recognize the scenery from a movie in the 80s. A short drive from the caves we will start our hike descending through the natural forests of the Niagara Escarpment to the shoreline of Bruce Peninsula close to Cape Dundas. There are some hidden swimming spots for the bravest hikers to take a quick dive into the cold waters of Georgian Bay. It will also be at one of these spots that we will have lunch together before completing the loop and returning to the van. On the way back to Toronto we will take a short break at one one the lesser known Waterfalls in Owen Sound: Jones Falls. *Note that running or hiking shoes are required for entry
