Trip Details

The Spencer gorge conservation area is our early morning stop. There, we'll visit two of the most popular and beautiful waterfalls of Hamilton: The first of them is Tew falls, the tallest in Ontario with 41 m. This point marks the beginning of a 1.8 km trail towards Dundas Peak with stunning views of the Dundas valley and the city of Hamilton. Webster falls with 22 m is the most visited waterfall in Hamilton. The cobblestone bridge, and surrounding areas of the spencer Gorge conservation area make this place iconic. Both waterfalls are located after a short walk from the parking lot and offer vantage points, perfect for pictures. Access to the bottom of the waterfalls is prohibited. Our next destination is Tiffany falls. To get there well hike along a short trail of 800 meters that displays the bedrock and several species of trees. The reward is a close view of the 21 m height waterfall from the bottom part, a perfect spot to enjoy the misty air and relax for a while. From there we will embark on a short hike to the gorgeous 17 m high staggered-type Sherman falls. In case of bad weather we will skip the hike between the falls. The next stop is Devil's Bunchbowl where you'll have the chance to admire this incredible geological formation that dates back approximately 40 millions years and unfolds a fine and long 33 m waterfall into a spectacular 100 m hole. There are 3 lookouts to detail the layers that resemble colorful brick-shape rocks. Access to the bottom of the upper waterfall is prohibited, therefore only the lower waterfalls could be appreciated from below. Depending on light and weather conditions we will also stop at Felker, Albian and Buttermilk Falls.
